I never thought that I would be the type of person to use cannabis products for pain management. I thought that it was a joke to hear people say that they were using cannabis products for pain management. I didn’t think it was possible to get high and feel pain relief at the same time. I really didn’t know that much about cannabis, to be honest. I definitely talked a lot, but I don’t think I really knew what I was saying. When the pain in my leg was absolutely unbearable, I went to the doctor for help. Of course he wanted to prescribe pain pills and I knew that was a death sentence. I was only 47 years old and I didn’t want to be an addict by the time I was 50. I knew that meant be very careful. I asked my doctor if there were any other solutions to the problem. He recommended surgery. I wasn’t going to have surgery so the next best option was cannabis. Cannabis products are legal for recreational and medical use. It’s super easy to get a medical card for cannabis, but it’s not necessary. You save a little bit on the taxes, but you can go to any recreational or medical marijuana dispensary to buy the products that you need. The pain in my leg has been getting worse and worse, so I have been thinking more and more about cannabis. The ladies in my bingo group rave about cannabis and edibles. It might be time for me to see if they can help with the pain in my body.

My favorite rock and roll band was playing downtown and my friends and I got tickets to see them for free.

• I called the radio station every single day for a week until I finally won tickets.

My friends and I got a four pack of tickets and we also won backstage passes. The value of the tickets was probably $200 each. We had the opportunity to pick up the tickets from the radio station ahead of time or stand in line at will call at the arena. My friends and I chose to get the tickets from the radio station instead of standing in line. We definitely didn’t want to waste 2 hours standing in line with everyone else. We left early in the morning on the day of the concert. The city is a 2-hour drive from our place. On the way, we stopped at a gas station, roadside rest stop, a marijuana dispensary, and a burger king. I got out of the vehicle at all of those places and so did my friends. We each had our own tickets, and I lost my ticket somewhere along the way. I had the ticket in my pocket and I lost it. When my friends and I arrived at the arena, I searched my pocket and then I searched the car. I searched everywhere and I could not find it. I told my friends to go inside, but they did not want to go without me. We sat outside of the venue and smoked marijuana while we listened to the concert. Marijuana made the pain go away, but it didn’t make me feel less aggravated for losing the tickets that I worked so hard to get.

As the manager of the marijuana dispensary, it’s up to me to hire the right staff to get the job done.

I had to recently fill a position and that required someone with knowledge and expertise.

It was important to select someone that knew information about marijuana. We are a very busy dispensary with a lot of foot traffic. I needed someone that could hit the ground running and keep up. I interviewed a couple of different people for the position and I chose someone that only had 6 months of experience. The woman was working at a marijuana dispensary in a different state and then she moved. She got pregnant shortly after that and it had been 2 years since she had worked in a dispensary. The woman was willing to work weekends and nights and I could not find a better candidate for the job that was more qualified. I looked at more than fifty different applications and I interviewed a dozen or more candidates. I filled the position and the new hire is doing very well. She works in the back fulfilling orders right now, but it won’t be long until she can work the front and be with patients and customers. I want to make sure that she has all of the tools to get the job done properly and that means the right training and plenty of time to get to know all of our products. She works every shift that is scheduled and she doesn’t stand around on her phone all day like some of my other employees.

There are very few activities that aren’t made a little more fun by smoking cannabis.

My wife does not partake herself, but doesn’t seem to mind that I get stoned every day.

There are a few times when it has caused an issue, but Ella always gets over it before too long. Take church, as the best possible example. Ella likes to go to church every sunday, and usually I abstain, but sometimes she pressures me to go with her. If Ella is doing a reading in front of the church, I will go and support her. But I never, EVER, go into a church without smoking cannabis first. To me church is the most boring thing in the world, and without a healthy dose of cannabis in the parking lot I always fall asleep. The problem isn’t with me, the problem is with church, and cannabis makes it a lot better. This is one of those times when Ella gets mad at me about marijuana, but what choice do I have? I never put down her faith or her religion, I just don’t share it. Cannabis is the closest thing to religion that I have in my life, and I pray to it every day by smoking it! I also tend to smoke cannabis before going to the movies, to the library, to run errands, or to work. Cannabis is a staple of my daily life, and that includes Sunday mornings for church. I think Ella would not mind so much if she ever tried smoking cannabis with me to see how much fun it is.

Being the owner of a cannabis dispensary has some privileges.

Please keep in mind that my shop is not like any of the others in this town.

All the other cannabis shops are franchisees, or reps from a major national corporation. My shop is 100% mine, and while it doesn’t rake in the huge piles of cash the other stores do, I think it does just fine. I like keeping things small and intimate, and being able to work with my customers instead of calling the corporate offices for permission. Last weekend I was working late on a Monday night, which is usually a pretty quiet evening at the shop. Just before I was about to close up at midnight I got a phone call, asking me if I would keep the cannabis shop open just a few more minutes for an emergency purchase. I don’t know what an “emergency purchase” of cannabis looks like, so I agreed to stay open a little while longer. 15 minutes later a stretch limo pulled into the parking lot, and a well-dressed man came into my cannabis dispensary. I will not say his name, but he is a famous touring stand-up comedian, who happens to do a lot of jokes about cannabis. I locked the doors of the cannabis shop for privacy, and spent the next 30 minutes helping the man find what he needed. I am so glad I stayed open late for this man, because he spent almost five thousand dollars on cannabis products! He is now my favorite stand-up comedian of all time.

I met my partner on a dating app about a year ago.

I had gotten sick of constantly chasing women through work relations or through mutual friends.

And going out at bars wasn’t helping me either. When I was in college I just automatically met people through classes or social events. It’s a lot harder when you’re out of school and you’ve got to manually look for these people on your own. But online dating isn’t that bad to be honest. I’ve had luck matching with quite a few people and talking to a range of potential partners, and then I even went on a handful of dates too. I guess it’s normal to go through a process of trying a lot of different partners out through dates and seeing how the compatibility works before you settle on one specific person. Dating can feel like a long and arduous process until you find somebody that actually clicks with you. For instance, my current partner uses cannabis just like I do. I’ve had issues with partners in the past who weren’t supportive of my cannabis use. It’s hard to be with a partner long-term who doesn’t think that it’s legitimate that you use cannabis for medical reasons. They all assume that cannabis is strictly recreational but that’s not the case. It helps so much having a partner that’s on board with my cannabis use and even likes to use it with me. If somebody’s supportive of alcohol use they should be supportive of cannabis as well. Otherwise it’s sheer hypocrisy at play.

I really hated my home state for a lot of reasons.

A lot of it had to do with the extreme weather in the winter season.

I really hated freezing and having to pay high costs for eating bills. I would buy my cannabis from my street dealer and freeze in my house while smoking pot through the winter season. The last year that I was living in the north I was chopping a lot of wood during September and October to stock up for the winter every year. The heating costs got so intense that one of the few ways I could afford to stay warm in the winter was by burning wood. I was living on a piece of property at the time with a lot of down trees. So at least I had an almost endless supply of firewood as long as I had the energy to chop it. Now I’m living in a state that’s much warmer, and it also has legal cannabis. My home state on the other hand did not have legal cannabis for instance. I always had to buy cannabis from a street dealer on the black market. But now that I’m living in a different state, I don’t have to worry about that problem anymore. I get all of my cannabis these days from legal cannabis dispensaries. It’s nice never having to worry about a street dealer and meeting at a sketchy place in the middle of the night just to buy marijuana products. I can get all of my cannabis flower products directly from a dispensary instead of the black market. And I don’t have to pay the state for a medical marijuana card either.
