Convincing mother to try cannabis

My mother recently turned eighty-one years old. While she remains very sharp of mind and independent, she suffers from some pain and stiffness of the joints. Her knees and hips are often sore and make it difficult for her to get around. My mother leads a very full and active lifestyle. She likes to mow her lawn, cook for the family, garden and knit. She has a group of friends she meets for dinner every Friday and remains active on the town board. She has taken prescription medication for various health concerns and has been unhappy with the side-effects. One of the synthetic treatments negatively impacted her balance and another created issues with dry mouth. It took me several years to convince my mother to try cannabis. Although recreational weed is legal in our state and we have a dispensary just a few miles from our houses, she couldn’t get past the stigma. She associated marijuana with criminals, delinquents and drug abuse. I continually reminded her that cannabis is simply a plant. I explained that CBD doesn’t cause any psychoactive effects and has proven beneficial in treating chronic pain and inflammation. About six months ago, I finally talked her into a visit to the dispensary. She was impressed with the facility and the budtenders. She spent some time consulting with one of the budtenders and agreed to try a CBD-dominant topical. Since then, my mother has added CBD gummies and capsules to her treatment. She has seen a significant improvement in her range of motion because of cannabis. She is now recommending cannabis to her friends.
