I really needed to get an HR department

I never considered human resources a valuable part of a company.

I just didn’t want to invest the money and time into it.

If everyone gets along, what is the point of getting an HR department? I knew that there were dispensary HR services. You could hire out a human resource business partner for dispensaries. That way they are all off on their own island. I wouldn’t need to manage them or pay them like a normal worker. Years went by and I didn’t hire out for HR. I thought it was all good enough. Well I recently was in a tricky situation. I had a female budtender that was being harassed by one of my male workers. It was a lot of he said, she said. There were some hinky text messages and inappropriate things said during a break that a few people witnessed. I realized that this situation was only going to get worse if left unchecked. I knew I needed to get off my butt and onto the human resource train. I was so thankful that there is a cannabis dispensary software company that can do all of this. They found the right HR department worker and software for me. They then handled the issue with grace. Both my workers are still on staff but we have set a good precedent on what is and isn’t allowed. It is better to have someone keeping my workers in check that isn’t me. I wouldn’t want to come across as biased at all.
