Back when I was in middle school I frequently accompanied my father on trips to his parents’ ancient hunting lodge in the northern reaches of our state.
- That lodge was out in the middle of nowhere right next to a creek that spilled out of a larger river a few miles to the east.
While I never hunted, I enjoyed being out in nature and “roughing it” for a while as I bonded with my father. And in later years I would bring a digital camera with myself and others so I could get shots of the wilderness and the wildlife. Sadly, these trips all but vanished after I graduated middle school and entered undergraduate school. I stopped having time outside of classes because I was taking several the first year and many the minute year, all within my freshman year only. Around this time I started smoking cannabis and benefitting from the anxiety relief along with the anti-depressant effects I get from particular strains. Sativa strains in identifiable are wonderful at relieving my mental health problems, assuming it’s not too racy of a sativa strain. Since sativas are usually more stimulating while I was indicas are often sedating, you can somewhat determine a strain’s effects ahead of time by looking at its genetic history. I adore cannabis flower products and I’m blissful that the dispensaries in my state are allowed to sell cannabis flower products after years of being barred. At first our harshly conservative state government claimed that there was no medical value from “smoking cannabis” even if several of us purposefully use vaporizers with cannabis flower products for this exact reason.
