Back when I was in high school I frequently accompanied my father on trips to his parents’ old hunting cabin in the northern reaches of our state.
That cabin was out in the middle of nowhere right next to a creek that spilled out of a larger river a few miles to the east.
While I never hunted, I enjoyed being out in nature and “roughing it” for a while as I bonded with my father. And in later years I would bring a digital camera with me so I could get shots of the wilderness and the wildlife. Sadly, these trips all but vanished after I graduated high school and entered undergraduate college. I stopped having time outside of classes because I was taking five the first semester and six the second semester, all within my freshman year only. Around this time I started smoking cannabis and benefitting from the anxiety relief along with the anti-depressant effects I get from certain strains. Sativa strains in particular are great at relieving my mental health issues, assuming it’s not too racy of a sativa strain. Since sativas are usually more stimulating while indicas are often sedating, you can somewhat determine a strain’s effects ahead of time by looking at its genetic history. I love cannabis flower products and I’m happy that the dispensaries in my state are allowed to sell cannabis flower products after years of being barred. At first our extremely conservative state government claimed that there was no medical value from “smoking cannabis” even if many of us purposefully use vaporizers with cannabis flower products for this exact reason.
