I developed issues with acne when I was in middle school.
Although my mom took me to a dermatologist, the medication didn’t fully clear up my skin. I dealt with constant breakouts and embarrassment. I became very self-conscious and withdrawn. Over the years, I tried a variety of medications, including pills and topical ointments. Some of them caused adverse side-effects such as sensitivity to sunlight and overly dry skin. I had hoped that I would outgrow my skin problems. However, even as an adult, I was afflicted with pimples and blackheads. Despite being conscientious about my skincare regimen and what I eat, clear skin was impossible. A little over a year ago, I read an article about the anti-inflammatory properties of CBD. It said that CBD can work to lower the product of sebum in the skin. When this natural oil is produced in excessive amounts, it causes acne to form. I am very thankful that recreational cannabis is legal in my state. I am able to access CBD produced by the marijuana rather than the hemp plant. I can buy CBD isolate, full-spectrum and broad-spectrum oils and topicals. I use a combination of tinctures and ointments that work to lower the production of sebum. My acne cleared up very quickly. Since treating my skin with CBD, I’ve had nothing more than an occasional, single small pimple. For me, CBD has been life-changing. Having clear, healthy skin has helped me to feel better about myself and gain confidence. I am thrilled that there are no adverse side-effects from taking CBD.
