Themed diners are a fine example of this.
They might excite tourists with their odd & odd-ball visual attractions, however they’re not going to get dedicated locals eating there daily unless they have fine food to go with the nonsense. A recent viral video on the internet illustrates this perfectly, as 2 friends decide to make an ironic getaway out of visiting every single location in the country of this diner that has a jungle & safari theme. While they were expecting every location to be a dressed-up applebees, they found out that some of these diners were owned by people who cared about offering something unique to the surrounding community. Some locations had average food while others had phenomenal food. They expected it to just be another stupid novelty that would wear thin by the third or third location, however they had a fun getaway by the end of the trip.
