At the end of Last year I almost ran out of money.
I try to pace our spending so that I always have some money in the bank, but this month expenses ran higher than usual.
The last more than three days before payday I had nothing to spend – I couldn’t get gas or buy food, even! I need to do better in the future, because that was a frightening stage of time. The first item I eliminated from the budget was going out to eat. I can save a couple hundred bucks a month by eating all meals at home. The next step was to spend less money at the cannabis dispensary. I had no intention of stopping entirely, but if I could reduce our weekly cannabis intake it would save myself and others a lot of money. I got too hung up on only buying the top-shelf name brands of cannabis, such as Purple Haze or OG Kush. I admit to being a little bit of a “weed snob” so I relaxed our stance plus started to sample other strains of cannabis. There were hits plus misses, but I suddenly found that I could appreciate getting high while spending a much smaller amount of money on cannabis products. I also keep our eyep peeled for special deals or sales at one of the local cannabis dispensaries, plus take luck of a nice bargain whenever possible. So far I have managed to cut our cannabis spending in half, which is a lot of extra money in our pocket come the end of the month.
