I’m always forgetting when there’s upcoming federal holidays on the calendar.

Things like Presidents Day and Memorial Day are often forgotten for me until the week prior.

That has been a constant for me since I was a student. But back when I was a kid I enjoyed getting these days off from school. It was almost like an amazing surprise to find out about a 3-day weekend at the last second. You would think I would have the same mindset these days as a working adult, but I don’t get paid on the days that I don’t work. On the days when we’re off for holidays, we don’t get paid time off. So a random holiday means an entire day of work is lost for me. The only holidays that I actually look forward to are the ones where I can work and still go to a store afterwards and save a bunch of money. The Cannabis holiday of April 20th is a good example of this. All of the cannabis dispensaries have massive sales on April 20th and you can get hundreds of dollars worth of cannabis products for a third of the price. If you’re looking to stock up on cannabis products for a couple of months for a small amount of money, you better put April 20th on your calendar and remember it. It’s hard though if you don’t have time to wait at the cannabis dispensary. Sometimes you’ll be waiting in line for an hour or longer on April 20th if you’re at the cannabis dispensary. I ended up buying an ounce of cannabis flower products for only $50 on April 20th this year. I also bought four grams of live rosin cannabis concentrates for only $80.

I have a rather large family that I tend to not see all that often anymore.

Since I took a job out on the east coast, I don’t get back to my home state much anymore.

And most of my family has stayed pretty rooted to our home area. The nice thing about that region is the fact that cannabis is legal. First came medical marijuana quite some time ago. It was, by all accounts, a great success. And that led to the state then legalizing recreational marijuana. Of course, my family is traditionally very conservative and were not proponents of any of that legislation. Little do they know just how happy I and a few of my cousins are that we can shop for marijuana for sale now. In fact, I made it a point of finally getting back home for the last family reunion. This is something the family tries to do once a year. But it had been sparsely attended over the last few years. So some of the younger generation took to social media and other communications to get the word out this year. I didn’t even make it home from the airport before I stopped at the local cannabis spot. It was so incredible to be able to see all the sativa and indica products. There were also many different types of hybrid strains for sale as well. Indeed, I could have stayed and shopped for marijuana for sale for an hour. But I really just wanted to get a supply of cannabis gummies and a disposable cannabis oil pen for the four day trip. Having that cannabis sure made this family reunion the best one I’ve ever attended.

Finally, I’m getting the picture.

This was not really a criticism as much as it was a statement in fact. It was a far cry from the guy she fell in love with who had a thing for recreational marijuana. But that was back in college and those were different times. Once I started working in my field and got a taste of success, I was for sure deeply into getting more of it. I sort of hung up the cannabis and really any other good times it seemed. I went on the family vacation every year but that was the extent of of my time off. Eventually, my wife left and took the kids. Looking back now, I can’t say I blame her. But I kept at my job and racking up all those hours for yet bigger and bigger wins. Well, I’m now rich and successful but utterly alone. So I’ve decided to take a step back with a sabbatical. I’ve also chosen to revisit my love affair with sativa and indica strains. For the first time ever, I went shopping for marijuana for sale. I found an old stand by with some orange kush. I was really into indica strains when I was younger. So enjoying this cannabis again has been an important part of getting back to essentials. I’ve even reconnected with my ex wife over cannabis. She to is still single and the kids are now out on their own. We actually get together a couple of times a week at the cannabis cafe. It’s so wonderful to be able to just focus all my attention on what a cool lady and a great friend she is.

It’s too bad it took me so long to discover cannabis. But after 25 years of politely saying no thanks any time some recreational marijuana was offered, I said yes. And that has kicked off an awakening that I couldn’t be any happier to welcome to my life. I’m a mom and a professional. Up til about 2 years ago, I was also a wife. But when the kids were gone, so was he. I didn’t even realize that he was simply waiting for our last child to leave the house before leaving himself. That’s how it went down and now, I’m living the exact sort of life that I want to live. This life also now includes recreational marijuana. I was stunned for almost a year after my divorce. Since then, I’ve been liberated from all the past conventions and roles that I forced on myself. I love being a mother and that won’t change. The staff at the local cannabis spot have been so great as I have started this cannabis adventure. At first, I was sort of opposed to smoking anything. So I started out with cannabis edibles. We’re lucky because we have a cannabis cafe in town where they make their own cannabis edibles. But my local cannabis spot has taught me many of the finer parts of sativa, indica and hybrid strains. I’m even enjoying more range of motion at yoga thanks to the effects of my indica edibles.

I’m getting close to putting my bus pass away.

I might even end up being able to only use public transit here and there going forward.

Thanks to the new marijuana business in my community, it doesn’t look like I’ll be needing to take three buses to get my sativa and indica products. Look, I’m not complaining at all here. I’d hitchhike to get access to a cannabis dispensary. So I’m for sure grateful that we finally had the laws change allowing for legal cannabis. It took a few years after medical marijuana was legalized but recreational marijuana has been the normal now for a while. Still, having to commit like nearly 3 hours each way to catch buses all the way across the city was rough. I live in this community on purpose. Being in the city, it makes really no economical sense for me to have a car. So traveling by bus is a reality. But most everything I’m able to shop for right here in my community. I like that very much. It feels good to put my money into the community instead of some corporate profit ledger. Now, I’m able to do the same thing when it comes to buying my sativa and indica products. We now have a local cannabis spot that I can easily walk to. Shoot, riding my bike to the park takes me right by this new cannabis dispensary. This place really has it all when it comes to anything sativa, indica or hybrid strain for sale. They even have homemade cannabis edibles for sale as well. There is nothing better in this world than a big ol’ pot brownie from my new local cannabis spot.

It had been a very long time since I had used any sort of recreational marijuana.

I mean, like almost 30 years since I last smoked weed in college.

But there I was standing inside the cannabis dispensary talking to one of the bud tenders. Being inside a marijuana dispensary was part of the new approach I’m taking to living my life. The old approach just was going to end up putting me in an early grave. At 50, I was right where I had hoped to be with my career. But that came with far too much time spent only working. The results of all that time working meant that I didn’t really pay the sort of attention to my wellness and health that I should have. So with my 50th birthday came a present to myself. I chose to start a holistic health regimen and I’m getting some help in doing just that. I have a colleague who suggested that I try out her holistic teacher in an effort to get some balance in my life and improve my health. The first thing I thought was this was going to be a bunch of nonsense about stuff I didn’t believe in. This could not have been further from what I found. My teacher is just as down to earth and real as anybody else I know. But she is the sort who simply radiates peace, balance and joy. One of her first suggestions was to get myself to the legal weed store. Recreational marijuana is legal here and so getting access to the cannabis dispensary wasn’t a problem. And now, I’m just excited to see what comes next!

I was a late bloomer when it came to cannabis.

In high college I was a straight edge, and never messed around with smoking or drinking at all, and when I got to college I was quickly seduced by the wild nightlife, at which point I started smoking and drinking to excess.

That lasted until I flunked out of college and had to get a banal task in an office. I don’t drink undoubtedly much these nights, I quit smoking tobacco, and I only do difficult drugs on special occasions. However, the older I get the more of an appreciation I have for cannabis. This easily is a wonder drug, a plant with medicinal properties that also expands the mind’s eye and offers a host of mental health advantages, however cannabis changed my life for the better. Some people don’t like the feeling of being stoned, and so they avoid using any form of cannabis, much to their detriment. There are undoubtedly hundreds of amazing cannabis products that have no psychoactive properties, and won’t make you feel high at all. Some of these products are also smokeless, so you can have an edible or a gummy that has CBD oil instead of THC in it. I never use any of these cannabis products, because I cherish getting stoned, but I appreciate the fact they exist. The wide and attractive world of weed has something for all the people, so I recommend you visit your local cannabis dispensary and see what they have to offer.
